Massimo Vignelli owned the show last night at AIGA/NY’s panel discussion last night on navigating the NY Subway. He had dozens of quotables, there was some good tension between Vignelli and Michael Hertz, though Hertz made it very clear he honored Vignelli’s work. If I can be half as affable while being half as vigorous, I’ll have made it.

There’s still an untouched Vignelli-era sign (black text on white) in the depths of the Atlantic/Pacific station in Brooklyn on the B/Q platform. I wonder if it was overlooked or an MTA worker trying to preserve something original.
very nice. i knew you would have a Vignelli treat waiting…
Its actually in my apartment now Jason. Thanks for the tip.
Buried deep in the MTA website is procurement page where you can buy artifacts from them.
