the meaning of the name
I listen to Rap. I grew up on it. Skated to it. Got through Art School on it. If you listen to Rap – real Rap – then you listened to Gang Starr. They were the epitome of Rap’s golden era and they never put out anything weak. If the Native Tongues were retro, Premo and Guru were Swiss Design – precise, simple, and to the point. An incredibly influential duo that, sadly, will never release another record.

this is proper.
I’ve never thought about it that way, but Premo’s sparse, clean production is totally Swiss!!
Awesome post.
This is a good one. So clean, so Swiss. Love the way “Ownerz” looks in Helvetica. Brings gangsta to a whole new place.
Fantastic use of the Golden Section!
But it’s not Helvetica, it’s Arial. Great job
Hey Spencer,
It’s actually Akzidenz Grotesque. What do you take me for?
Hey Dennis,
I just assumed it was Arial when i saw the slanted terminals, but you are quite right. I was mistaken. I thought it might have been your way of making a typographic joke.
I still want to commend you on a nice piece of work, now more valid than ever as you have pointed out the authenticity of the swiss design style you where going for.
