Friendly TY

A step into the world of Ty Wilkins is like having ice cream for breakfast while building the best Lego set ever with a marathon of Looney Tunes on in the background. He has the extraordinary ability of being able to bring a few winks, lines, and shapes together to create fun, whimsical visual stories. His designs and illustrations make everyday feel like a perfect Saturday morning cartoon. We are more than happy to have him as our 18th Guest Post’r and letting us feel like recess can be all day long.

You can see more of his work here, follow him on twitter, see him dribbble, and read his Type Theories.

An Opinion About Everything

Penny for your thoughts

The past two weeks have been stuffed with inspiration and introspection mostly fueled by the passing of Steve Jobs, discussions at Brooklyn Beta and the speakers at the AIGA/NY Dog & Pony. I’m not yellin’

A little rejected work about President Obama saying “complainin'” and how it was reported. This idea didn’t make it very far but I love it all the same.

Damien Correll - Friends of Type Guest Post'r No. 17

Say Wha?

I’ve noticed that I haven’t really done much type-for-type sake in a looong time. Not sure if it’s because I don’t have anything terribly interesting to say or because I don’t lack an interesting way of saying it. – Damien Correll

And Etc.

Many years ago I started to develop this typeface, which originally stemmed from explorations of devices commonly used in optical illusions. I think it still works, but gets real cumbersome to read beyond a handful of characters. – Damien Correll
